About this show

Electric Umbrella #34: Territorial Gobbing (UK), Zheng Hao (UK) & Lawrence McGuire (Rdam)

Each of these artists can make you laugh, all three of them can make your life a little different for a while. They are very eccentric, super technical, funny, and highly productive young voices in their near fields; inspiration guaranteed. Trash perceptualist, sensitively dadaist, ordinary surrealist, structural intuitionist, materialist simulationist, seriously unserious music.
A special one to broaden listening; and for an in-house special, they will improvise as a first-time trio after their solo sets. Come for a cold beer and a warm welcome at Worm’s UBIK.

Territorial Gobbing

Experimental performer and improviser in the art-damaged post-fluxus vein. High emotion process driven absurdist music and noise-poetry built from tape gunk, voice, bell and whistles. With various albums on Chocolate Monk, Opal Tapes and Scatter Archive.

Zheng Hao

Born in Wuhan; lives in London. Mostly uses electronics for solo and small group improvisation, while other times also makes unpleasant computer dance music. Enjoys gritty and gnarly textures as well as delicate, amorphous qualities in different sound and space.

Lawrence McGuire

Living in Rotterdam, Lawrence McGuire works with the presence of voice in text, symbol and sound. His works errand into text-sound, text-print, text-image and always culminates into a work that is voiced either by his own mouth or by others in a private or public setting. Most works are iterative efforts on creating a vocality by other means. He can be found collaborating with other sound poets, voice researchers, playwrights, musicians among others.
