De Finse rocker Marko Hietala is de voormalige bassist van de symfonische metalband Nightwish – in 2024 stond hij nog in onze Ronda met ex-Nightwish-frontvrouw Tarja Turunen. Deze tour doet Hietala op eigen kracht, en kracht heeft hij genoeg, zoals blijkt op zijn tweede soloalbum Roses From The Deep (2025), de opvolger van Pyre Of The Black Heart uit 2020. Geschikt voor liefhebbers van vintage hardrock (zo klinkt opener Frankenstein’s Wife als een knaller van Alice Cooper), maar ook progrock, folkmetal en symfonische metal vinden hun plek op deze plaat, het beste Finse product sinds Salmari!
