Triangulation

Rotterdam/Ljubljana band Triangulation is releasing their debut album “On Metaphors” this autumn with seagull cries and time-travelling seeds. We invite you to come and meet Andromeda and the rest of this expressive bunch of bards as they spin some tales amongst a curious blend of improv, jazz, pop and theater. We have also invited multi-instrumentalist Cengiz Arslanpay, a musician/magician who will always keep you guessing!
Triangulation is a freak-folk weave of humans, operating at the seams between storytelling, improvisation and theatrical performance. The Rotterdam-based troupe is at ease basking inside thick, engulfing atmospheres full of whimsical tension. Through the use of theatrical gestures, eerie vocal harmonies, free improv, effects, tone-rows and animal sounds (in no particular order), we conjure up themes of love, destiny, time, nature and surrealism, wrapped in an absurd narrative that devours its own tail with lust.

Cengiz Arslanpay

Cengiz Arslanpay is a versatile musician and collector of sounds, whose work is distinguished by its refreshing use of traditional instruments, modular synthesizers, and everyday objects that produce unexpected and intriguing sounds. Moving fluidly between different cultural contexts, he approaches his practice as a musical nomad, carrying a bag full of flutes and a wide-ranging palette of sonic textures. He shapes these influences into music presented through timeless, site-independent performance setups.
